The Lair of Hyacinth the Green - a system-agnostic dungeon
A downloadable dungeon
Earlier today, rogue fae lord Hyacinth the Green entered the town of Brookford Hill in disguise, and distributed a wagonful of delicious fruit. By the time the townsfolk starting showing concerning symptoms of magical transformation, Hyacinth was gone. An eerie green glow now emanates from Hyacinth’s lair, within the stump of a huge ancient tree. A band of adventurers (who may themselves have eaten the fruit) must find their way through the lair, and defeat Hyacinth in order to reverse the effects of the curse.
This system-agnostic dungeon contains:
- Nine rooms, full of traps, mysteries, treasure, and NPCs
- Three NPC profiles for possible companions, as well as a description of Hyacinth the Green
- Four magical swords, each a unique power and a unique curse
- Open-ended mysteries, to inspire future adventures
- A guide on how to magically transform into a tree! There are six stages of transformation, each with its own advantages and increasingly severe drawbacks
This is an adaptation of another of my projects: The Cursed Sapling Seeds, a one-page (ish) dungeon for Mausritter.
